A Good Day in Vienna

Because we applied too late for an extension of our old visas, we had to travel out of the country to the Czech embassy in Vienna and start the application process all over. It was a mad scramble to gather all the needed paperwork and make an appointment, but our applications were accepted last week! Thank you for praying!

New Place, Same Hope

The Penzion at which we have held our English camps for the past 10 years closed last fall, forcing us to seek out a new place for this year’s camp. We were led to the Hotel Kyčerka in the mountains east of Zlín. We were sad to leave our old, familiar place, but God knew that we needed to move to something larger. Last year, we had about 70 students and staff combined; this year we have over 100.

We want our students to hear about Christ in our lessons, see Christ in our service and love to them, and be drawn to him. Our hope is for God’s kingdom to grow. Please pray with us for this joyful result.

Reaching Another Generation

Psalm 78:5-8

For He established a testimony in Jacob
And appointed a law in Israel,
Which He commanded our fathers
That they should teach them to their children,
That the generation to come might know, even the children yet to be born,
That they may arise and tell them to their children,
That they should put their confidence in God
And not forget the works of God,
But keep His commandments,
And not be like their fathers…

One of the most encouraging signs of life in the church we serve is that God is calling a second generation of believers into his kingdom. Many of you are aware that the vast majority of the adult believers in our church are first generation believers. Most of them were raised in non-Christian homes and came to Christ as young adults. Now the Lord is calling their children, using the things that have been taught to this new generation.

Yesterday the elders met with two young women and heard their testimonies of faith in Christ. These young ladies were accepted into the membership of the church. In just a few weeks, the elders hope to hear testimonies from two more of the children of this new generation.

May God’s holy name be praised!
