We have been constantly amazed at the beauty of this
country. It is a feast for the eyes during the spring. On a recent hike, I saw
fields of dandelion flowers, the largest blooming pear tree I have ever seen, and gorgeous
vistas of faraway hills.

It Started Out Like Just Another Sunday…
Easter was pretty special this year, but the day started
like most other Sundays. We got up early, got ourselves ready, picked up Bob
and Dana, and headed to church. Just a mile or two before we arrived at the
church building, we received a call from our pastor, telling us that there was
a wedding in progress at the Seventh Day Adventist church. Many of you know
that we rent the Seventh Day Adventist’s building for our Sunday worship each
week, since they aren’t using it. However, our rental contract includes a
provision which allows them to use it occasionally. They had told us a couple
of months ago that they would need the building on April 1st, 2018
for a wedding. Rene had announced it in church. And, all of us had promptly
forgotten about it – until 9:30 yesterday morning. Plan “B” was to worship in
our living room. Most of our members and a few visitors showed up. Nearby is a picture
of the luncheon afterwards. It was a joy!
