Psalm 78:5-8
For He established a testimony in Jacob
And appointed a law in Israel,
Which He commanded our fathers
That they should teach them to their children,
That the generation to come might know, even the children yet to be born,
That they may arise and tell them to their children,
That they should put their confidence in God
And not forget the works of God,
But keep His commandments,
And not be like their fathers…
And appointed a law in Israel,
Which He commanded our fathers
That they should teach them to their children,
That the generation to come might know, even the children yet to be born,
That they may arise and tell them to their children,
That they should put their confidence in God
And not forget the works of God,
But keep His commandments,
And not be like their fathers…
One of the most encouraging signs of life
in the church we serve is that God is calling a second generation of believers
into his kingdom. Many of you are aware that the vast majority of the adult believers
in our church are first generation believers. Most of them were raised in
non-Christian homes and came to Christ as young adults. Now the Lord is calling
their children, using the things that have been taught to this new generation.
Yesterday the elders met with two young
women and heard their testimonies of faith in Christ. These young ladies were
accepted into the membership of the church. In just a few weeks, the elders
hope to hear testimonies from two more of the children of this new generation.
May God’s holy name be praised!
